Default Lipo purchase - second guessing the BRCA

I need a stick Lipo to run in my B4 for the Petit event (15th Jan) and want to order one ASAP so I can get used to charging it etc. Any advice on a suitable choice that is likely to end up on the BRCA battery list when that gets announced in due course?

There is already a BRCA battery list, they've been using it for 1 year(?). I guess it would be wise to pick from that, but take into consideration the new size rules.

Send an email to Paul Worsley, can be found on www.brca.org, there is no better person to ask right now, anybody else would purely be guessing.

Id hate to recommend something for it to then be wrong, then id potentially be responsible for you forking out on something illegal.

This is the BRCA list:
http://www.centralbooking.org/cbs/im...ipo2008-11.pdf

Are there different size restrictions BRCA vs. the new EB rules?

That list is NOT a current list. That means nothing for 2009.

That list was drawn up by Paul for the touring car section only for 2008. As Chris says, any questions should be directed to Paul himself, as if anyone can give a definitive answer, it will be him.

Cheers guys, I've sent an email. But in case of no reply, anyone want to stab a guess? I won't hold any grudges

Tom - are you at Petit? We, the 'Essex Lower Final Posse' will be there to maintain the rear guard as per Paris .

100% understood But if the specs (haven't checked) are the same then there surely must be a high probability that most of the 2008 approvals are re-used or what?

Or do you know for a fact that the whole list is scrapped and they start all over again?

Why the EB simply can't issue a temporary list I cannot understand.

Everyone understands that it's best to wait for the official EB list. But if someone for some reason want to buy NOW - then surely you must admit that this is the best alternative?

Emailing PW I don't really think is a viable solution for the drivers. As far as I know he prefers to correspond with officials from associations.

But you guys seem to know him well, why don't you contact him?

Fortunately you are wrong , Paul is a good guy who represents us well. I know there has been some bickering on here in another thread and that is only due to the unfortunate circumstances that have preceeded the rules. Emailing him now is a short term solution which I know he'll understand and probably be grateful of rather than somebody guessing without asking him; as in the long term we will have a list of cells available for us in the not-too-distant future for the forthcoming 2009 season.

I've e-mailed Paul just asking for clarification on when a list will be produced, a rolling one soon or a single one after the deadline!
