Proline tire choice
Bit random this one, but would like to know the closest comparible proline tyre to each of the following, if they have anything comparable at all:
1. Minipins or any other astro tyre 2. Anglespikes/grass tyre 3. Kamikaze tyres, or a good worn grass/dirt tyre Do they do any tyres good for the above? |

Hi Dave,
1. Minipins or any other astro tyre==Bow ties/crime fighters any small block 2. Anglespikes/grass tyre==Proline step ups 3. Kamikaze tyres, or a good worn grass/dirt tyre==Proline step pins/Revolver/bow ties/Crime fighters or Caliber There is a fourth. Wet Astro==Angles glued aggressive. Thats the most pins in a row to the outer of a rim (glued wrong way around) You can have a look here. http://www.prolineracing.com/c-7-tires.aspx Tim |

1 astro wet=angles, dry=minipin bow and crimes have ben used but just aren't as good
2 grass, wet=angles, dry=angles stepups are ok but most will use angles 3 worn grass stepup, crimes or bows 3 Dirt = crimes, bows, caliber, revolver this is where proline are good as its the tracks they are designed for most use a crime fighter or bow tie type of tire but the calibers and revolver are becoming more popular when the dust gets swept off the racing line there are a multitude of other tires out there concentrating on dirt type tracks Losi, AKA, JConcepts, LRP |

Mini Pins will handle different to Crimes or Bows definitely. Pro-Line's closest tyre to the Mini Pin would be the Step Up as it shares the same style (pins), just has fewer of them and they are larger.
I find the Step-Ups better in the wet than Angles personally but others may disagree. They are also a similar tyre with the same size of pin but a totally different configuration that makes the Angle such a grippy tyre. |

Cheers for the reply guys!
The reason I ask is I am wanting to use Proline V2 wheels and am lazy so like preglueds! However for astro I have heard in the past that minipins on V2's with AKA inserts are a good choice anyway so I'll glue some up! For grass/dirt(where grass has worn off) I have been using kamiaze's and found them great, might try some preglued bowtie's or crimefighters and see how I go! |
