Neobuggy got a photo of an apparent Xray prototype 4WD buggy from the EFRA Euros which is currently underway in Austria.
![]() This is the first hard evidence we've seen of an Xray buggy after years of rumours. It's strange that the team have gone to a 4WD platform first when 2WD is the more popular choice world wide - but maybe there's a 2WD coming also. It's hard to get a real idea from a body-on photo but the buggy looks a little '8th' - with the beefy construction and big dampers. The wing and wheels look like Team Durango items whilst the body looks 'familiar' but I can't place it. No ideas on drivetrain yet but I'm sure we'll get some news soon.

It will be typical xray expensive will need to buy aload of expensive hop up parts to make it go right. Spares will be expensive and a new model out every two minutes.

but quality will be second to none and the car simply wont wear out... xray, the most reasonable choice for 99% of racers...

Plus it's not as if Xray cars are proving to be unbeatable in any of the classes they race in, results seem to be very ordinary at best.

plus their constant new chassis versions annoys a lot of racers in a similar way to football clubs releasing new replica kits every 6 months to fleece more cash out of people. Will be interesting to see how they get on in the offroad market which has swollen with models again after a few sparse years

The other great thing Xray do to annoy everyone is bring out a new version of every kit every few weeks and the sheep still love to buy them. But we will see when club drivers start to try them.

I can only think that those who slag off the xray brand have never had one, coz anyone who has wouldn't.
They've set the standards while others catch up, almost every new idea comes from the Xray factory before others have even thought of it If your instruction manual has improved....Thank Xray If your laser etching on driveshafts and ARB is on there....Thank Xray If you've got a gear diff ....thank Xray and for anyone who has ever driven a serpent or Durango...Thank Xray My cars B4 and B44 and old Xray XB8 and soon to be XB10-4 |

i have owned an Xray before, hence why i will be steering well clear of this one. The cost of a pair of wishbones would probably bankrupt me. That's if they actually sell them as a pair, as opposed to individually like on my old touring car.
Gear Diffs? i'm pretty sure they were around LONG before X-ray were even started up! lazer etching on driveshafts? Who gives a toss, i'd rather have a plain pair at £10 less per pair!

the original xrayt1 was based on a tamiya 414 the xray 05 was based on a tamiya 415 the xray t2 was based on the tamiya 415msx.
dont get me wrong the xrays are very good cars but to say they come up with all the new ideas doesnt ring true oh and serpent (s400) put the first oil filled gear diff in a modern tc. stu |

xray did not do the 1st gear diff, by a long way Durango was not xray it was the serpent (i was a serpent driver when they released the prototype buggy wich was later sold to the company who own durango!) as i saw it at the serpent factory. serpent was not xray, the only tie was hudy supplied them thier spring steel parts and then Hudy company was formed. NOT xray please get your facts correct! and before you follow up, i have an xray 808, nt1,rx8,xb9 and t3
