Will there be any difference in handling if i change the original shocks of the bj4we to the losi xx4? I mean will the car be any better than the bj4we and xx4 combined? Thanks

I dont think you can improve on perfection matey, leave the AE shocks on, im sure JConcepts tried losi shocks during the development stages, they went AE for a reason.
Plus would you want anything that is associated with a rubber band car on your super fast shaftey ![]() |

There is actually nothing wrong with the AE bodies if they are built right, but I prefer the finer tuning that Losi pistons and springs allow.

I love the way my old xx4 absorbs the shocks over bumps. It looks like its floating. Thats why i thought of putting losi shocks at my bj4we. So will they effect the handling?

Just put the losi pistons in the AE shocks, if the losi shocks were better suited to the BJ4 then we would all be using them. Or drill a 1.4mm hole in your rear pistons

I can't see changing the shocks making any real difference assuming they are the same inside diameter, I mean - it's a tube. One is assembled from the top, the other from the bottom, it's the springs/oils/pistons that make the difference.

So why not just use Losi shocks it would save messing about swopping pistons about?

Because a set of pistons is cheaper than a complete set of shocks

Losi springs are different too, even if they were the same poundage (is that a new word) they are longer and would therefore make the car feel softer due to the increased amount of coils on the spring.

and why would AE-shocks be better then the Losi-shocks?
I prefer not to use Losi-stuff, am totally B4-committed ... but have allready made both AE-shocks and Losi-shocks and must admit Losi-shocks are easier to asemble, right out of the box, IMHO. Also, it's easy to change the oil and most of all: easier to change the pistons or the number of shock spacers. Again, IMHO. Maybe I might, one day, ... put Losi-shocks on my B4 ![]() |
