Default Motor over heating

I’m using a LRP SXX TC V2 and a 6.5 Octa in a DEX410 and the motor is running really hot. A few times it has shut down on the last lap. What am I doing wrong? I’m using 87/20 gearing. Settings 3-4-3-4. on a dirt track. I have cut a holes in the scoop just above the motor, one at the front and the rear of the scoop and trimmed away more of the body at the rear. The timing on the motor has not been changed (out of the box).

The ESC is running on the cold side.

Bearings in the car are fine. All the drive line ones were replaced a few weeks ago.

Help!!!

I had a similar problem last week indoors with a 6.5 octawind X12, surprisingly mine was down to a slightly oval spur gear, the backlash felt fine but spining it 180' it was proper tight!!! fortunately it has the thermal cut out! stripped, cleaned, good quality bearing oil and back on form!
