EIR 2010 (Charleroi, Belgium)
Jean-Pol Voumard asked me to pass on this news.
Him and his club are planning a new edition of their Euro Indoor Race. Previously editions were held at Laon, France, and in Charleroi, Belgium were they now seem to have found a permanent base. BRCC is a Belgian French-speaking club but they (and the event) are open to all international pilots The 2009-edition (which was won in 4WD by Nathan Ralls) was a succes and they held yet another Summer-GP just to learn, improve and adjust their podium, track, ... organisation. picture of the EIR 2009-track: The 2010-edition is now scheduled also: It will be held on the weekend of 5, 6 and 7 february 2010. Free training on Friday (5/02) 1 timed training + 6 qualifying rounds on Saturday (6/02) 2 qualifying rounds + 4 finals on Sunday. There will be room for 5 series 2WD (probably series of 11 cars !) 4 series 4WD 1 serie Trcuk (1/10) The track will be, as before, indoor, on astroturf, but the team has learned a lot from previous editions and found a solution to soften the landing zones (hard concrete floor + 1 layer of astroturf + jumps of about 2 meter = auch!) by laying some layers of a special soft material under the astro on the landing zones. This system was tested on the Summer GP and prooved to be very good. Inscriptions will be open from Tuesday, Sept 22th 2009 at 20.30 CT and only via a specific emailaddress that will be published on Electropower.com [note]: I'll try to publish it over here asap or ask JP if he could do it himself on this site. pictures of EIR 2009: http://www.as-pictures.be/v/Modelism...9/album/album/ pictures of the Summer GP: http://www.as-pictures.be/v/Modelism...album/GP_BRCC/ There will be tables inside for about 60 drivers and a big tent outside (heated) fo the rest of the drivers. Also, as on the previous competitions, if necessary, drivers can also bunk in the indoor facility. |
