Default Cougar pinion/spurs...

The manual says one should be able to mesh a 25 with an 83...

I presume the kit spur is an 83?

The biggest pinion I can get to mesh is a 23!

Why?

manual dosant say you can run a 83 with a 25 pinion it just gives you a gear ratio for that combo,
and your right 23 is the biggest you can run propperly on a 83 spur witch is kit std

I spoke to Tom last night and we not be running 83 spurs. I was given a first batch of prototype ones with no numbers on, so I assumed it was an 83. It looks more likely we are on 81, as i can make a 25 fit if needed and i do run a 24.

Yeah it does, it says maximum tooth sum is 108, ie 83+25.

But that's what I want to know, if 23 is the maximum others have found you can fit. Hmm, though these setup sheets from Tom & Simon suggest they've run a 24 with an 83.

Aaaanyway, looks like I'll have to get smaller spurs to get a ratio for that particular motor.

Alec: I managed a couple of dry runs with it this morning at TORCH, and it's a blummin' lovely car. Mid-motor suits my driving style a lot better than rear motor.
