Obviously, for the true R&R Racing look, you need a red-edged airbrushed with yellow backing original RC-10 shell. But that was the 1980s…

MMM yes and no.
Early yes was orange. BUT !!! The story I was told by close family friends of Rory approx 3 weeks ago when they seen this shell was. Team Associated wanted him to have pink instead of the orange and this was changed. How true this was Im not sure, but the shells I had back in 1990-91 of Rory Culls was pink not orange. I was also told by the friends hes now living in America again not sure. There are a number of Rory shells showing RED, ORANGE AND PINK. |

I remember his shells at the nationals and thought the purple was more deeper at the back but do recal the other colours on both cars he ran, and brings back memories.
Its a shame you did this now as ive just had a Masami repro for my 91 RC10 worlds proto, if id known earlier would have done this. I know he raced there as kept track of that event plus have a picture of Rory and Craig working on their cars. Any reason why your selling it?

The colours are hard to get perfect with the light and camera phone. The paints I have used on this shell are faskolor. Back in the late 80s and all of the 90s the main airbrush paint used was Pactra little bottles (what I used anyway). What I found with Pactra over the years is it could be brittle not really flexible as you may know. I only use faskolor now as I find this perfect and VERY flexible. I have matched the paints as close to Pactra as possible, but the purple in real life as all the colours are near perfect................ No real reason for sale, but have other projects and shells to paint |
