Hi,
Didn't know which section to put this in so sorry if its wrong! Saw this mod and fancied giving it a go but cant work out what they've used! ![]() What is the camber link plate bit, that has the shock tower mounted on it, made from? The square part with the four rows of hole if I've been vague. Thanks guys Matt Last edited by Col; 28-07-2014 at 12:03 AM. |

That's black G10 fibreglass sheet, 6mm thick. Not the easiest material to find in small quantities and not cheap if you do find any.
I would suggest using acetal instead, easier and cheaper to buy in small quantities and much easier to work with.

Would acetal be strong enough? I've never heard of it so have no point of reference! |

![]() The material is quite stiff, is quite strong (for material without fibre reinforcement) and has a low friction coefficient (so it's sometimes used for slider bearings and gears, too). If you need some material to try it out, I have a 8mm thick plate (in white) I could cut a piece off for you. |

It is more than strong enough, any plastic part you find that has been machined is made of delrin, wishbones, gears, even the Centro 4.1 gearbox was machined from delrin. Easy to find online in small quantities, and cheap offcuts are usually sold on ebay.
