Timing Software recommendations?
Hi all
We're considering changing our timing software; currently running BBK on an RC4 decoder. Any recommendations for an upgrade appreciated...good and bad points about various software etc. I know it's not that busy here any more, so if you know someone who could help with this please do ping them a quick link to the thread! Thanks in advance Andrew Coley 1066 Racing, Hastings |

Hi Andrew,
The most popular timing software here in the UK is RC-Timing, you can check out our Facebook page here which includes plenty of reviews and comments from users: https://www.facebook.com/rctiminguk/ You can download a fully functional trial from the website to run 10 full meetings... probably just at home for now I guess : http://www.rc-timing.com/ We've picked up lots of clubs moving from BBK over the past few years. You can import your BBK driver database by exporting it as a CSV. The feedback we receive is that RC-Timing is far easier to use, while working reliably with modern hardware and Windows versions. RC-Timing also has live results broadcast to http://www.rc-results.com. All you need is a 4G dongle or wifi hotspot. There are other options. If you're looking to run big international meetings, then RCM or LiveRC may offer some more advanced meeting formats (like Reedy race and Xmas tree finals). The downside is they cost more, and are more complicated to use. So if you're running club level to national meetings, I genuinely think RC-Timing is the best option. It's also UK-based, so always up-to-date with UK rules. Any questions, feel free to PM me here, on Facebook, or at info@rc-timing.com |
