Waiting for a baby is dull. Still I've been using the time constructively - I've rebuilt my 210 with more Tresrey bits.....
Fun class probably does cope better than 'heat 1' with a slippery track. Fun class cars don't have a mass of power anyway. People that struggle on a slippery track tend to have faster cars but not mastered setup or car control ie the sort of drivers in our 'bottom' heat.

My knackered tyres helped my performance, knackered mini spikes were awesome. And most of my tyres are knackered as most people know :-p
With regards to pip rather than hose... there was a lot of pipe left in the shed, but i wasn't prepared to bring any more myself with so little help. Similarly there was carpet, jumps and other bits and pieces left. To enforce the free racing for setter-uppers, we need someone in the shed like last year getting the stuff to the door who can see who is coming to get stuff or not. And i appreciate some people will only be able to help either setting up, or putting away, but there were lots who did neither, and me, Maddy and Chris were the only ones doing both. I know Mark had some issues with the kids mashalling his heat, with that in mind i think we should alternate so the kids marshal a 2wd heat one week then a 4wd heat the next week. There's always going to be someone disadvantaged by it, but lets try and vary it.
