Wes Myles' setup
Any chance someone could get Wes Myles to post information about his setup here:
http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/ukmic.../OOP_4099.html I'm interested in photos of what he has under the shell, and which shocks/dampers he's using (and which parts were used to mount them). Jimmy, Very happy to hear you finally warmed up (albeit just a little) to the Blaze/MB4/Vendetta. I know my request for a MB4 review didn't go over well, but perhaps you'd consider reviewing the new ST version of the B/M/V. It's a classy update to the existing design, and the buggy body drops on (after swapping body posts) basically making it the first update to the original platform. |

They are the 3racing Mini-t shocks
Meant to be very good, same as stephan was using too Im running Mini-t pro shocks on mine at the moment but i think i will look into getting these 3racing ones as they are dead cheap, you can get rebuild kits for £2.50 and i like the threaded bodys

3 A racing shocks, ( had them to test ) used rear ftx blaze shock bottoms on the rear as they fit in side the holes on the wishbones the fronts are as they come from 3 a . pistons are stock, running 80wt shock oil in the front, 70 rear and used shims to space the top of the shocks away from the shock towers . if you need any more , let me know and i will help as much as i can , but i am away from the cumputer for a week ( proline track build ) wes myles |

Hi Wes,
Thanks for taking the time to post all of that info. Did you use the hardware included with the 3Racing Mini-T shocks to mount them to the (top of the) Blaze shock towers? I just noticed that custom carbon plate. Nice touch. I assume that's to center the weight of the receiver and ESC, correct? And, are those holes in the spur gear cover? If you paint shells for hire let me know Awesome skills. As always, no hurry on the reply. Matthew |

Hi
yes the plate was made by steve davis and puts the weight closer the centre line,,, holes are there just to get a bit more air around the motor can/mount and it does work to a certain degree,,, thanks for the comments about the shell tel coming from a fellow artist says alot i used to paint shells for cash but its all getting too much with work and family so have taken a back seat for the time being,, but i know a guy that can throw some serious paint eh Tel |

Yea i gota say Wez your shell looked awesome!! Loved it
Sorry to put your beautifully wired Blaze to shame but... Its nice running all the electrics on one side, if you put a biro in the centre screw for the Front & Rear bumper and lift the car up either side of the car is balanced, shame the driver isnt :P Thats a 540 heatsink bent round the motor too. Just cut a little bit with some holes in it Also the receiver is wedged between the servo & motor, its a spektrum micro

Adding a shot of my naked MB4 (the graphite center shaft blew up last week and I haven't had time to install the replacement, so I'm running the stock aluminum shaft):

*pondering* hmmmm...... 2.4ghz and a PT............................. why, you could just turn up and race!!! no fiddling with xtals, cutting holes in bodies or having them scratched by rattling handout 'sponders.
what a wonderful world that must be*sighs* |

haha, and like me!
thats what I run now. It's ace not having to remember your transponder when you go out to race, no mre haveing to stand in the que. and then when he finals are decided you don't have to swap your crystals! aaah the height of lazyness....... |

Just wait until you get into brushless and Lipo, seriously laid back racing, no discharging, cell balancing, no comm skimming, coupled with PT and 2.4 Ghz my life is complete, everytime I have to go back to the "old school" it really hurts, and I usually get told off for not returning a transponder
Can't figure out how we used to do it in the old days, 27Mhz 6 channels, even before 40Mhz, stick packs of NiCds, sealed can motors, manual lap counting, jees how the times have changed in a single life time. Must be getting old !! But it feels good to keep up with the times! See you trackside.
