Thought I'd take some pics while the sun was out and the car was still in one piece.

...and how long time wing mount did last? Untill first bad landing?
To be honest, id also like to use injection molded wing but I'm still afraid what is then next weakest point in chain. What will break most easily if I use such a heavy weight and bomb proof wing? |

Probably the wing mount, but then again, maybe not. With luck the wing and wing mount together will dissipate most of the inertial energy and you'll get away with not breaking anything. It might make the car tail-heavy on the jumps though.

Hey guy's. It's been a while since i last posted, but anyways. I got bored last and decided to switch my Durga shock towers from the 3 racing ones back to the stock carbon plastic ones and i must say that i like them very much. I am using the Db-01 aeration dampers and the car feels great. The car feels more solid and seems it will be able to handle more abuse than the carbons from the 3 racing. It looks like i will be sticking with them even when race season starts. Whar are your guys thoughts on the different type of shock towers that are offered for the Durga?

Hey Spoolio, how are you liking that carbon chassis for the Durga? How much did you get it for?

re plastic wings
I run a XXX BK1 on an 8th scale track... jumps are tough, landings are tougher. Tired of going endlessly through lexan wings, I bought plastic ones, expecting to see broken shock towers as I run optional trinity aluminium wing mounts (which is an heresy but this is how I bought the car). I am happy to report that, after many many "rough" landings (ie dirt gets stuck to the wing edges...), there has been no breakage yet... ... which doesn't mean there wont' be any or that the Durga will behave the same. But to me this is a viable solution. Paul |

I am loving it, but then again I only race on indoor circuits (basically touring car carpet tracks with a few ramps and the odd bit of polished wood) so no need for the "flex" of the kit chassis to help with grip. I think I paid $38 for it from HK, which at the time was around £19 in my money. Of course it would be much more expensive now thanks to the wonderful state of the global (un)economy .

Yeah man i think im gonna have to go with those new carbon ones by atomic. At least the man was nice enough to provide such an upgrade that will benefit those that are using the DB01 dampers. And so the swing shaft and everything will be sorted out huh.

Yup,the AC tower will sort it all out I believe. You'll just need to source 2 threaded ballstuds (TA-9804026 I think), there is a post to that effect in the AC tower thread.

News Flash!
The Durga is not indestructable! After a particularly crashtacular lap that resulted in lost wing mounts, Shorty managed to land upside down from about 6 feet in the air and snap the rear shock tower mounts off the transmission tunnel! Oh well, it needed a good strip down and clean anyway...

Oh, I heard he broke the rear shock tower, Also today Louis managed to break a wheel (Losi) completely in half and the car survived, considering how hard it was hitting things lap after lap they are amazingly strong.
