RB5
Hi All,
I was at the same meeting as Jason, I used TRF501x medium front springs and AE Silver rears for all the heats, then swapped to orange/yellow on Jason's recommendation for the final. Although bad driving from me meant it wasn;t a successful day, was v.impressed with the car, and also can agree with Jason on those springs being a good base. Couple of issues I may have had, which wouldn't mind people confirming were a bad idea: 1. I used 4wd front tires instead of narrower 2wd, and suffered lots of grip rolling. Any chance these were related? 2. Is it good to have plenty of ride height to be as smooth as possible over the bumps? 3. I never use drag brake on my transmitter setup, but find I often don't turn in tight enough due to push. Do most of you use some drag brake to ensure weight transfer (I have the same weight transfer problem with all kits, so it must be something in my driving style!?)? Again, v.impressed with the car, ran like a dream, just my driving to fix! Cheers, Dave |

hi dave
i ran schuy yellows all round thin fronts,in practise i found i had a little grip roll so i cut the outside row off both front and rear and totally changed the car i was so much quicker in and out of the corners, personally i dont like using 4wd fronts as i find there way to much i also use 2wd fronts on my 4wheel hope this helps you out cheers jason |

I have just started racing the RB5 over in the States. The car is awesome. I have put the ZX-5 option springs front and rear on the car. A 1mm shim behind the upper shock cap will space out the shock enough to clear the front stay. Also check your rear tire to wing clearance. We have noticed with some tires, you can get wing rub at full suspension travel. Raising the wing solves this problem on the buggy.
The car is very good. Running orange springs up front and yellows in the rear wtih great results. I have been running on high bite dirt so far. The car is very good out of the box. This car should be a sleeper this year and in the right hands is very capable of winning races. The Kyosho plastic seems to be holding up quite well also. A local crash tester has yet to break his car and that is not without a lack of trying!.
