210 diff help!!

The diff in my 210 slipped on its first runs out.

On closer inspection I found that some of the oil left on the diff halves from the manufacturing process had mixed with the diff lube. I would say that it is very important to ensure all diff parts are thoroughly cleaned before building.

I rebuilt my diff after a thorough cleaning and all is good now.

Whilst I had the diff apart I fitted some Lazy balls. These are some of the best diff balls I have used! Really smooth diff action.

Well I decided to check the c clip and I can't feel any difference.. So I have put it back together mmmmm

I tested both my diffs last sunday on a high grip carpet track without problem. I don't know in which way i installed the clips, it seems to work either way.
Is it the way you install them (how much you compress) or pure luck? Anyway, i don't see a problem, and if Durango did on their tests they should have did something about it.

have you measured the thrust washers and put the smaller one in first then the caged thrust ball then the larger thrust washer. I helped a friend build his and ran on carpet last night after we broke it in and all is tight and smooth as butter. And on another note the ball cups idk what happened but he hit a few things that were not gonna move pretty good and no issues with his cups.

No they are steel. I have used RC Lazy balls in both diff and thrust and very smooth.

The orientation does not have any issues on performance, but good engineering practice should be to have the square edge in the direction you insert the clip to give a more positive engagement. These clips are just stamped out. Using the kit one with no issues at all.

the stock diff built with associated thrust grease and stealth grease make for a diff thats smooth as butter. If you were to upgrade later carbide diff balls and ceramic thrust is the way to go. just my .02

Pardon my ignorance if this been asked before but what is the size of the thrust bearing in the diff?

Bought some Schumacher circlips (U2631) after reading this thread to keep in my pit bag.
I broke the original circlip in my diff last night so today I tried the Schumacher circlip and it too big to fit in the our drive
Anyone know why this could be?
Cannot find the original TD circlip in stock any where either

Help anyone

Just looked on Schumacher's web site and the clips pictured are different to the clips I have! I get all the 'E' & 'C' clips but only 2 circlips! the pic on there site shows 5 circlips!

I also had this problem with a couple of diffs I had from a borrowed Cougar. This either means the circlips in these particular diffs did not have original parts, or the clips people on here are referring to are from something that is not a Cougar.

My Durango kit circlip felt quite weak by the time I'd rebuilt it numerous times to rid the 'lump' a bent clip gives you, so I'm also keen to learn which clip people are using?

Won't rebuilding it several time just weaken the origianl clip
