I notice that Hayato is running in the Reedy Race this weekend. Will be interesting to see how he goes. Didn't see Naoto on the list tho.
Barry Baker is also running Yokomo in open class. Neo is covering the race. |

Any tips on building the car?

I found the layshaft had quite a bit of side play on my build, so I added a 0.2mm shim on either side
Shock oils and pistons, I'm still pondering at the moment, as I plan to run mainly outside.

Yeah I noticed the play on the lay shaft. Ill need to get some shims.
Front end is very soft. I'd use piston no.1 in front and if your running on high grip then a stiffer spring will be needed. Either that or use Naoto's set up and go for 60cwt shock oil!!!

Building shocks tonight....not sure what to do with pistons...always ran associated 2 in front and 1 in rear on my Vega on astro So was thinking the same for Bmax to start but all the setups online seem to be 2 in front and 3 in rear??

What is the order of the pistons?
I take it 1 is the smallest hole to 3 which is biggest?

On measuring: No.1 = 4 x 1.4mm No.2 = 4 x 1.3mm No.3 = 4 x 1.2mm I know Sylvain, Naoto and the rest of the Yokomo team have found the ideal setting for racing indoors, as has been proved. But would this be ideal for outdoors on more bumpy tracks? I only ask as I'm unsure what route to go.

Don't those indoor setups use 60wt oil in the front? sounds like it setup for less pack due to bigger holes but slowed damping movement due to the oil vicosity. Suspect it setup that way to slow the car movement down in yaw and braking on indoor tracks. or the blue springs match the damping for that setup.

There are some set-up sheets on PetitRc for the old rear motor car on outdoor astro tracks that I am going to use as a base. Red springs on front and blue on back with 30/35wt oil seems a reasonable place to start

Also that setup was used at the EOS were they were running D-boot tires. D-boot tyres make allmost all cars traction roll, at least my X6 doesnt like D-boots. Thats why the yokomo guys used that pistion shockoil combination i think.

Finished my B-Max 2MR build yesterday, got to say it was a pleasure to build and went together very easily. Can't wait to race it next Sunday.

gave car it first run today.
Very nice indeed. Just need to get hold of one of the narrow bulkhead arm braces. Don't get why its not included in the kit when you get both bulkheads. Not in stock anywhere either which is slightly annoying. Found I had a little understeer so moved the steering knuckle spacer to above so it dropped the axel 1mm which made a big improvement. Think ill remove one spacer from front shocks too. Does anyone know what weights the team drivers and using in the bulhead?
