Manix, I don't know if I have confused you in other posts, modified buggys with any motor/battery/whatever may sound like a madhouse but runs better than you would expect, racers soon learn that they can/cannot handle the power of fast motors and settle down to a pace that suits there ability, in buggys we know the 3,5turn brushless motors that are used in some TC cars are not for us, you will find secondhand 4.5's easy to come by, secondhand 5.5's and up are not so common or are snapped up quickly. Slower drivers are on the whole pretty good and get off the driving line when they need to, I think you will have a bit of a learning curve, but (weekend looking dryer) this is a good time to start, come spring/summer you will be up and running and know what its all about.
Enjoy

With the weather not looking too great, is this meeting still going ahead?

It has only forecast light rain but as always they will prob get it wrong!

So far it has been dry, but cloudy and foggy here. Forecasts for tomorrow seem to be ever changing. As long as it doesn't bucket down between now and tomorrow morning we are good to go. Flooding of the field is our biggest problem, so heavy rain overnight causes more problems than drizzle on the day!

I expect it to be only a small turnout as a lot of the NW regulars will be at Bury and a few will be put off by winter weather. But i'm sure there is enough "hardcore" souls to make up a meeting.

I will post up the local weather conditions on here first thing tomorrow.

No touring cars tomorrow. Look back in this thread to posts 14 & 15, it should all be explained.

In all fairness mate Post 14 starts "This Sunday will be outdoors", fairly clear in my book!

I'm not even there to be honest, just browsing late at night!

I'm not sure how much clearer it could be explained to be honest. If you can think of some simpler terminology for us to use to make things easier fir you, please let us know.

Come along to the racing when you can, but please stop nit picking at every turn.

Well weather in Southport right now is dull, overcast and raining lightly. Almost no wind and no break in the cloud, so looks like a generally damp day.

This is Southport Radio Car Club, and southport is the home of the club and its permanent track. Formby is a venue we hire during the winter months.

If you multimap the two locations, "all the way in Southport", becomes a bit of an overkill statement. 7.16miles / 16 minutes between the two venues. This is nothing, especially when you consider we have regulars coming most weeks from Blackpool, Burnley, Manchester, Chester etc.

This may help,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyBIi...eature=related

there are other youtube videos, and lots of videos of buggy racing, I have not raced at Southport but expect it to be much the same format as anywhere else. this forum deals mostly with buggy racing, as the weather improves we will all want to get outside and over the lumps & jumps, I am more than sure that if you turn up with a buggy at Southport (or any off road venue) you will be more than welcome - clubs need racers - its that simple.

Sorry If it seems like i have been 'nit picking' Burgie, Im not great at 2am And I managed to excite my self a little bit too much with the thought of getting racing again so I think I must have gleened over some bits of information. My mistake.

When I say all the way in Southport, What I ment was I am without personal transport and It would mean a 17miles train journey which (for me anyway) won't be cheap and then a mile walk with my kit to the track.

Sorry If I have agrovated anyone.
