Tested new spur gear today
New 85T spur gears tested today.
5mm centre hole so no chance of misalignment. Ran really smooth and almost silent. Will post picture on the car tomorrow but here it is during assembly. Uses the standard Team C slipper pads and doesnt need any modifications the slipper assembly. |

No, because the hole in that new spur is the same size as the shaft, so no need for the bearing

As John said no need for the bearing now or any other modification as its a direct replacement but with the 5mm centre in fits directly onto the slipper shaft and runs true.
I will confirm price availability etc in a couple of days. |

looking forward to purchasing a couple of these. my TM2 hasn't seen any track yet because i don't want to drive it for only 5min until the spur shats the bed. I have the TeamC black ones and some bearings on order but I would prefer these ones. any idea on how long before these go in to production?

I don't believe it will fix all the problems with just an other gear.
I want to see it first run on an car... The gear problem is just one problem, the slipperpads are an other. I know that Stephen from Teamc also works on an solution to fix those items. The slipperpads are very difficult to tune now. Or the slipper runs through it or the slipper is to tight and that is not an problem what can fixed by an other gear in mine opinion. |

The new spur gear is just to resolve the misalignment and noise issues with the kit spur gears without having to do a bunch of modifications to the slipper assembly or buy extra parts to make it work. I ran the new gear all weekend and everything was good, perfect alignment and noise free.
My slipper is working good but I do think a thicker pad and stiffer spring would offer better adjustment of the slipper assembly. My spring was to springy when first assembled so I squeezed it together a little in a vice and it certainly seems more consistant now. Its all a step in the right direction. |

Just a short update on the 85t spur.
We have made a minor change to the gear so you can get better slipper adjustment, it will be tested this weekend and they should be available by the end of next week. This is a Acetol machine cut gear that runs true, quiet and by the nature of the Acetol material is very hard wearing so the teeth keep their shape and do not wear. To confirm, these spurs are a direct UPGRADE for the kit spur, there is no slot as its not required and there is no need for extra bearings as the spur has a 5mm centre hole to run perfectly on the centre of the slipper. They do NOT need any modification to the slipper assembly and they fit the standard slipper pads perfectly. They will also fit the 4wd cars. Happy trouble free racing |

Hi there is there any chance in the near future that you could do these spur gears for the tm2 to fit AE slipper pads as they seem to offer better adjustment peramiters and seem to be better quality than team c ones, john333 has adapteda AE 87T spur to fit my tms but he said it was very tricky to do but it has worked faultlessly since but your spur gears adapted to vfit AE slipper pads would be the perfect solution in my opinion of course
