i have not built a RB5, but i dont think many parts with be the same!

I built one of the cheaper ones last week. (For Someone else).

I wish my first 2wd R/C was a cheap. Ok some stuff needs sorting, but for £50, a brand new car with 'proven' geometry. C'mon, gotta be good for the hobby.

I'd like to see one raced in anger.

This comment is not directed specifically at Ansmann, just at the copying discussion in general. When a company produces their own parts that are just copies, it is far worse than using original parts from another manufacturer.

When original parts are used from another manufacturer, those parts have to be purchased. The original designer/manufacturer gets acknowledged, and they profit from that use.

I'm sure all the companies that use other manufacturers' parts (JConcepts, X-Factory, Atomic Carbon, etc.) would prefer to build entirely new cars from scratch, but it's just not feasible. So in that case, it's more sourcing than copying.

Put an 'X' and a 'Pro' in there, and you pretty much have THE most generic name in the whole of RC. My imagination can't even stretch to the possibility that it was 'copied'.

This whole copycat crap is getting a bit old isn't it.....

People have been commenting on how this is a good move for the 2WD Electric scene, which it is. I think people just need to look at this fact and stop worrying that the whole "it's a copy! it's a copy!" rubbish isn't a problem, let alone their problem.
