It was Windows Resident Shield which originally showed up the problem.
But I have got Windows Defender off !
Don't understand.
On the one that wouldn't work I turned everything off with no joy. I even tried it in safe mode and it still didn't do anything.

I'm at a loss as to why it didn't work and why yours doesn't. Hopefully Losi will get back to you and provide a workaround.

Default Did it !

I did it. Took four days but I did it. Ran V.1 from the CD after repeated boot-ups to confirm that everything was off, Defender, Uninstalled AVG, no firewall everything off. It installed, still nothing happening when plugging the USB adapter in. So went into Control Panel/System/Device Manager. It knew it had a CP2101 plugged into it and had the yellow triangle to show it was in an error state. Clicked update driver and it was ALREADY pointing to the Losi/Drivers folder on C:/. Told it to update the driver from that folder and that was it !
The LED went green !

Well I certainly did !
Haven't got over it yet.
Had the afternoon off, finished the car, and now it's raining.
I knew this would happen.....
Ah well. Time to start building the Tamiya F430 !
Won't have any probs with that. It's a 540 motor and a £12 speed controller ! No PC's involved thank god.
Remember when all cars were like that ?
You just built it, whacked the electronics in it, and drove.
