Doesn't the hyperclutch and equaliser shocks make it an RR?

At the very least it's a very tidy MkII, nice find

Didnt look properly DOH! Yes if its a mk2 chassis but shocks may have been in the kit making it an RR.

Whoever contacted me regarding the tub that fibrelyte have needs to hurry up and decide on what you want doing and update them as i understand someone else is interested in that chassis.

The R had a moulded rear wing - would that mean it is an RR? Is there much difference between the two?

Is the clutch on the R a Hyperclutch? How can I tell?

I'd like to make the R a runner but upgrade everything as I restore it - I don't keep my resto projects stock. So with that in mind I'd like to go carbon throughout with Fibre Lyte parts, velvet shocks all round, Lunsfords all round and new hex screws throughout too.

I see the S chassis is quite different to the R - is it possible to build an S from an R? From pics of the S cars on here it looks like many of the parts are too specific to build a replica S.

Theres a ZX on page 233 (Green and White) which is simply stunning - if I could get mine close to that I'd be very happy.
nice RR there ....

do you have the molded wing ???

and yeah olikes green and white zx looks absolutly stunning .....

I gave the wing to a fellow club member as I didn't think it was stock for that car - DOH! I wasn't too bothered as I planned to mod the car before and run it with a light brushless system (13.5) but if its a bit on the rare side it might be a shame to not keep it stock. I'm sure if I ask nicely I can get it back.

I have the Lipo trays from a B44.1 which I was thinking I could send to Fibre Lyte and have the holes lined up for a custom chassis without the cell slots.

On the Fibre Lyte website it mentions James Instone chassis - what differences are there over the MK2 chassis?

Pargu does the alloy blocks but there was some issue with them not lining up properly - was this resolved after?

Paragu didnt resolve and wouldnt recomend dealing with him.

My chassis is a mk1 version (i prefered the mk1 chassis) with the cell holes inwards a further 5mm to give a better balanced feel. Its also narrower and fits within the zxs shell that Kamtec sell. Otherwise get the tub, you will drool over it once you have one, just ask Dan from Australia

Ive designed several lipo trays through fibrelyte, my preferred is the version thats similar to the trf511 but you really need to drill the chassis to fit the centre block. I thought the b44 trays were a direct fit?

the b44 lipo trays dont fit unless you drill new holes. i also had to make myself new post s as my lipos are deep and the ae thumb nuts hit the bodyshell, i could of used screws but that would of just bugged me when changing over the lipo's.

eddscott. if you intend on using the zxr as a runner with fast modern electrics eg 6.5t brushless i would really recommend getting all carbon......chassis, top deck, rear tower and a front tower with hoop. the frp chassis have to much flex for todays speeds. also a rear belt tensioner.....welshy40 may still sell them?. i also made little blocks that fasten behind the front tower to make front gearbox stronger ( picture 2 ). you mentioned the james instone parts from fibrelyte, take a look at the lazer on the first page of this thread, that car has all the carbon parts from that design

Welshy40 is James Instone. Check out my designs as they are all over this thread. I will this weekend do a sheet for fibre lyte for lipo trays and L plate and best front shock tower to use and of course my rear gearbox design. Will try & get drawings done as well and will try & post next week. Also i prefer the mk1 chassis but works much better with a tub chassis as its so much stiffer & the extra weight makes it a better drive.

Also like the picture of the plastic washers over the front end top deck. Nice idea.

Ok heres some pictures of the items I use on my spec'd out car from fibrelyte, only item on here I don't use is a design I did for the MK2 lipo tray plus the motor plate is designed with counter sunks for my cf gearbox so if you want I would suggest you request without the two those counter sunks to be removed from around the bearing hole. Also ignore the number 14 on my top deck, this was the only picture I could find of my design.

The Mk1 lipo tray design (picture is on a chassis with centre block) is what I am using on my tub chassis.

might be soo ..but there are more penelty shots then just one ..

lipo carbon cradles and the motorplate are they at the FL homepage ???

just a funny story well depends how you look at it anyway back in the nintees -96 to be more exact there was an english lad who shoot it over the bar and well si germans went on to the final and won the eurofinal.

a couple of years later 98 or something leeds united was playing the local team from BODEN here in SWEDEN since it was only 3 mil from me i went and looked at the game, just an training match the PL hadnt started yet, the same lad was in that game. Anyway one of the local guys during an intermission break, stood beside him and just looked at him and then said "hey nice peneltyshoot in the euro" and he went crazy really mad trying to "stämpla" him cant the english word for it but stamp him on the foot. You know put youre foot on the other guys foot and do it really hard, he was trying it for the rest of the game.
