Hi everyone,
Well, first of all sorry to those who are still waiting for their gearboxes. I have been unable to send any recently due to not being in the country. Also, it has been brought to me that some gearboxes seem to have a slight manufacturing defect. Rest assured this has no effect on the gearboxe's reliability. The problem comes when mounting the rear shock tower. If you look at the picture, the distance between the holes is supposed to be 23mm. And on the samples that I had, it was. But it seems that on some of the later gearboxes, this distance has gone up to roughly 23.75mm. I do not know why, and this is clearly out tolerance. But given how difficult it has been to have them made in the first place, I would rather work with them than get some more made. So I have been thinking of a decent solution, and so for those who have/will have one of those gearboxes here it is: It's very simple, as the picture shows, the idea is to enlarge the 4 holes on the shock tower, this will allow the screws to go in straight enough without putting a strain on the gearbox. Additionally, for those who want I will have some shock towers made specifically for those gearboxes. I apologize for the inconvenience, and I hope the solution I am offering is good enough for everyone. Fabs |

mine mounted fine. It was a bit tight-ish, but no further problem

![]() That second gearbox did show the problem you just described. I'll dig into my toolbox in search for a 3.5-drill ...

hiya sam. at the moment just the standard layshaft although i am looking at ways to centralise the motor without causing issues.
only build problems have been getting the biggbores in around the rear turnbuckles. have spaced the hole in the wishbone so the shocks can mount just behind. other than that everything went smoothly. will post pics in the next few days

Just arrived "home" from the second round of the BCA Winter Challenge in Charleroi. There were 6 MCS at that meeting and they all made a very good showing as 5 MCS finished in the top 8:
1st Nathan Ralls aka Niggs98 3rd was young Kyle Moon (using a borrowed MCS) 5th Mugen Seiki team driver Cedric Nickell (using a borrowed MCS) 7th a VERY special guest from 1/8th nitro Jerome Sartel using the very first MCS prototype 8th Fabien Simonini And our very good friend Franck Deboes who didn't make it to the A but was very happy nonetheless as he seemed to have nailed his setup by the end of the day. I would like to thank first Ludo De Greef for lending his own MCS to Cedric Nickell, and dave Church for lending his own to Kyle Moon. Next I would like to thank Jerome Sartel and Cedric Nickell for running an MCS even though they only had their cars ready on sunday morning, and these weren't the best conditions to get a setup they liked. And finally again a big up to my main man Nathan, awesome drive in both classes, total RC Domination in the finals by winning all 3 finals in both classes against a very strong field. |

great news Fabs, congratulations!
![]() Arnaud Vialle wins the first round of the 'Challenge Indoordogne' with our carbon version! I can confirm, one more time, that is a fantastic car!!! Because of the gearbox problem and now our carbon products, I still not run with my MCS frame since march. ![]() As soon I have the aluminum gearboxes, I will sell my MCS : I don't want to see dust on it, it must run! |

what I know : it should be made with aluminum what I don't Know : when! But I want them soon for sure!!! I've received and tested the 3D print and sent it back with my frame, all gears, etc.. to the manufacturer to test the first machined one. If it's good, 2 or 3 weeks later I will have the entire production! ![]() |

strange, and a pity. I recall you saying the manufacturor promised he could make them for nov, 15th.
Now you're talking even "if possible" and about "several weeks". Same probs as Fabs had, unfortnuatly.
