I find the attitude of people in here absolutely appalling.

You seem to think that being punished for misbehaviour is a sign of a society gone wrong.

Actually, your rude defence of bad behavior is the true sign of a lack of respect.

Treat others as you would expect to be treated yourself.

The reaction is still too harsh and someone could have just taken it away from him at the time and had stern words with him. A ban for the next race would have been appropriate as well. But to have someones BRCA membership revoked is a joke.

The thing that gets me is that the UK seems to be working it's way slowly but surely towards an american way of taking single incidents way too seriously...

Well said...we know, TRCC know and josh knows it was a dumbass thing to do but it has been taken too far involving BRCA , it was a club issue and should have been dealt with within the club and i'm sure he would have learnt his lesson by been repromanded by the club officials.
He was man enough to let everyone on here know what he did wrong so it shows me he would have seen the error of his ways without BRCA been involved.

Josh you did stupid thing but one year ban and maybe no chance to get licence for next year is too much. We give 4 races ban here for inappropriate behaviour as first serious warning when words aren't enough (our club had to do this once and now that member is not that annoying to all people than before ) next one is loosing club membership, but it have nothing to do with ZMOS (it's BRCA for you) and your driving licence unless it's national race.

Lee isn't on any high horse, and I stand by what I say too. Infact, if you were so offended by his actions, why were you not man enough to say "Stop it" or even take the gun off him instead of letting it continue. I am not condoning what he did, we all have fun at times and don't realise that it may be offending somebody, but in this instance the punishment does not fit the crime.

Have you read the thread? Noone is condoning the behaviour nor is anyone disputing the fact that Josh acted inappropriately.

Punishment is necessary, but must be adequately measured to the severity of the incident. That is the problem. Soon you'll be taking 5-year-olds away from their parents and putting them into correctional facilities if they show the neighbours their peepee...

I've tried to give some support to a club that is trying to create a pleasant environment for everyone to race in.

Instead I have come up against a bunch of people whose main interest is having a go at that club instead.

No wonder clubs are in crisis.

You really need to read what people have written and not what you 'think' they've written.

No-one has condoned his actions, people are just making observations.

As for your last sweeping statement. Forums like these are helping clubs keep in contact with existing drivers and find new drivers.
Without oOple, how many people whould have gone back to the 'New Worksop' club???

Clubs are in crisis for other reasons like:
Disposable cash becoming less and less avaiable.
Credit Crunch

Think before you make sweeping statements
