No car compares to the fun you can have with a supermoto

As soon as it gets twisty the thing just flies and you can really annoy big bikes. I had the pleasure of having a go on a CR500 supermoto. Very lairy two-stroke. A complete bitch to ride but soooooo quick

Whatever you do get the big disc conversion on the front and don't go for too wide a rear tyre. Looks good but cacks up handling and rear tyres on a supermoto don't really last that long anyway

The enduro exhaust is usually a whole lot quieter and lights is never a bad idea even during the day just so people notice you more.

First you will need to get in touch with Honda and get a Doc from them with proof the year it was made etc you will need this to hand into the DVLA to reg it,

Then you will need an MOT which you can get a day time MOT so you don't need lights but you do need a horn and road legal tyres etc to pass it. If lights are fitted they all need to work. You don't need a speedo for the MOT but if you use it on the road and you get stopped the Police might have something to say about not having one fitted

Then you need to take i think it's a V55 form along to the DVLA with your insurance docs, the Doc from Honda and your MOT and give them some money then they will issue a reg number but they might also want to look at the bike too. Just make sure when you fill in the V55 where it asks for type approval just fill that in as Enduro so it's exempt from needing an SVA test

Then last thing you need to do is take your full bike test to be legal ride it even then at 17 i think you might be limited to 33 BHP which i'm not 100% sure but i think the CRF250R might be over this but you could always do the easy thing and buy a CRF250X enduro model with the lights etc all fitted which will also be better geared for road use unlike the MX version.

Yes lee im getting a car, (Bloody insurance prices) only 490quid for a crf

It is restricted to 33bhp officer Honestly

And a cr500 will be at 19 when i can have one, i want to full dog danglies motocross one not a trail version, excel rims, and pack the exaust for the mot, what are the laws on this? / what could happen if i had a fmf pipe on it on road?

I take it itll need rebuilding evey 1000miles?

Well on my CRF450 i change the engine oil after every ride and the box oil every 2-3 rides and when ever i change the box oil i check the valves too as they are the main thing to cause problems.

If you are going to be using it more on road than off road don't overlook the X model as the suspension and gears are better set up for road work as you will run out of top end speed on the MX version

Exhaust wise i run a DEP S7 94db system on mine which isn't too loud so unless you get a stuck up MOT tester or bobby you should get away with it

Yes i will look at the x model but i rearlywant it balls out, because my moped is a supermoto and has no mirrors and little indicators and alloy rims and all that lark, im big into 2 things, bling and power, is the trail model the same engine?

Also scoobster, is yours a supermoto or a motocross one?
