Default 1/10th racing at frankley

Hi Guys I help run Frankley Model Car Club, and we are thinking of starting to run 1/10th alongside 1/8th in our meetings, and i was wondering if people would be interested. Of course we would have to run a shorter track.

At the moment there is need for a track in Birmingham area. I think a new venue would be most welcome.
Only problem when 1/8th tracks convert over to running 1/10th is the track tends to be rough on the buggies and generally 1/10th buggies break a lot.
Having said that if the track could be worked on and made less rough then i think you would get good attendence.
Good luck in anticipation. .

Tony.

I'd certainly be happy to pop up for a meeting, I have to agree with Lakey though, a lot of 1/8th tracks are too rough when you consider a 1/10th car runs circa 20mm ground clearance.

I'd potentially be interested in this too.
It's been a while since I've been to Frankley but the thing that puts me off racing 10th on an 8th track is, as mentioned already, the extra bumps - but if people think it's okay then that's good. The other thing is big jumps without any downramps. Rallycross can take these no problem but having experience on other tracks, 10th cars don't take them half as well.
But my glass is half full rather then half empty

Bridgey ... have you got any links to track photos? That might help motivate people!

All I will say is check the calendar for clashes as many 1/8th clubs forget to do that and wonder why no 1/10th turn up on weekends there are regionals / nationals & other big meetings.

Hope to visit soon
