Exotek +8mm chassis- any thoughts?

Hi all,

I have been considering getting one of these but I'm struggling to find out any opinions on it. This summer I will be running the 210 on our local tracks which are grass and dirt and might visit another track which is astro. I'm a rubbish driver and have struggled since I switch from a cougar to the 210. When I got the extended chassis for the cougar I thought it helped loads but I'm cautious about spending the best part if £100 for something so unknown.

Have a look on petit rc web site for set-ups before you spend your money. I ran my 210 straight out the box and it was excellent.

There's set ups for all tracks on there,astro,dirt,grass,carpet etc.

The longer wheelbase may help: I haven't tried a longer chassis on the DEX210 yet, but in general for 2WDs I hear that a longer wheelbase makes the car smoother and more forgiving.

However as mentioned by brooksy, with all the other setup parameters available for (next to) nothing, you might want to look there first.

So what exactly in the handling are you struggling with? And on what sort of surfaces/tracks do you usually drive?

if you are racing on dirt and grass do you have the rear motor set up?

Why don't you try the +8 dimec chassis. Its longer and more stable. And the plastic flexs mroe and its a bit more forgiving to drive vs an aluminum chassis. Plus its cheaper too.

Thanks for all the advice it is appreciated. Think I may have a solution as I have received a PM from someone who has an alloy +8mm chassis for a price which makes the experiment much more tempting. Looks like it's time for a complete strip down, clean and rebuild with some new bits!

FWIW I and others in the club found switching to the dimec(with strengthened front + rear) a great improvement the car was a lot more forgiving and found it easier to drive.
The +11 was a good improvement again from the +8, but test the 8 first.

I also found that (if the grip is there) then shocks on the rear is a good move as well.

Isn't the new v2 chassis a +8, and aluminium.

Yes, but the plastic is more forgiving as it flexs more and its easier to drive in low bite conditions. High bite you need either aluminium or the dimec20 chassis.
