New gearbox for 210 and other options
Hi
TD are as informative as always when describing the new option parts. Can anyone shed some light on these issues? 1. What is the benefit of the new gearbox? Are there any other changes besides the extra mounting hole for the camber link? 2. What other type B parts do you need to use it in MM installation? 3. What is the deal with the new silicone o-rings what do the different versions aim to achieve? /Greger |

Hi,
The new type B gearbox does not require anything else to fit it straight onto the currant DEX210 cars. It has now got 2 camber link positions making setup changes very easy and quick and has also had that area strengthened. The lower part of the roll bar mount is also now part of the gear box housing.

In addition to what Jason mentioned - though I admit I'm just speculating here: As some people used to have trouble with the gear diff not fitting in the casing, I think they may also have adressed that too.
All Type B parts I believe will be for the DEX210V2. The gear casing should fit the 210 without buying any other of the Type B parts. The Moulded Tub requires more other parts to make a complete conversion - I haven't looked into it entirely, but you'll at least need other suspension hangers and a different bumper in RM. The silicone O-rings I'd say are different grades of rubber, they should allow different friction (and sealing) levels for the shocks. The 3mm ones will fit in the 1/10th scale shocks, the 4mm ones I guess are 1/8th scale? |

Thanks for the replies
I was wondering about the interface of the gear casing since there is also a type b brace kit, but maybe that is just an update of the rear bumper that is also included in the same parts tree? Regarding the o-rings I understood that they were different but what I would like to know is what the purpose of the different hardness versions is. How do they compare to stock? Less friction? More sealing? Less sealing but with less friction ? Etc. Etc. |

For RM setups the type B chassis braces in #TD320269 and #TD320270 have been redesigned to allow for removal of the top brace independant to the lower brace and also allows for easier transmission case removal. The lower brace doesn't hold down the transmission case and the screw joining the upper and lower braces mounts from the top.
The type B MM bumper is also included in #TD320269, pic below.

30Shore (Blue) 40Shore (Purple) 50Shore (Clear) Softer should have more resistance but a better seal vs harder less friction and not as good of a seal. For a low friction setup, you probably want a S50 acting as the outer seal, and a softer one S40 in the inner shock body to create a better seal. Keep in mind, the better the seal, the less you need to refill and maintain your shock. Low friction seals need a top up after a few heats, but offer the best in suspension performance. Different combinations for different applications. That is correct 3mm for 10th and 4mm for 8th. |
