Default Gearing

Hi all
Im just wondering what would be recommended with a SP 6.5? Im running an orion R10 as well as a stock 81 spur.

I have tried up to a 23, both the esc and motor get to about 60° and I have a fan in front of the motor. I would like to take that off at some point if I could get steady temps. I know its not really hot but I liked what I could get from the motor below.

I think I have 10 drag, boost/timing about 15/16 each no timing on the motor. Punch about 7

We have a long straight and I just want a little bit more uuumfp!

I had it sussed with a vampire 5.5T I drove 81/20 for about a whole pack and that was around the 50° mark but I wanted to test the SP motor.

Am I way off with the gearing?
A SP 6.5 would run like many other 7.5 motors right? Im then thinking that I might go up 2 teeth to a 25, or is it better to go to an 84 spur as well?

We run 20 or 21 pinion on Malin's XB4 with a Tekin Redline Gen2 6.5T depending on track size (with stock spur)

I run 21-22 with my Tekin Redline Gen2 7.5T, both with 81 spur.

I just tried a 19 and turned up the motor timing, seemed to be ok, Will be nice to test it on the track with a 19-22 see what temps I get.
Maybe I was over geared. Bent you know what our straight is like.
