We might have argued about things in the past but on rules I'm with you.

There are a few classes of racer that have run within the confines of a comprehensive set of rules designed to give as even a playing field as could be expected. The majority of these racers demonstrate an understanding of race etiquette.

Sadly there are newer classes that have moved into clubs from bashing who seem to expect that their lack of formalised racing should be accepted without question at club level.

The concept of regional racing is that of the next step up the ladder towards national level. Some racing classes understand this and make sure they comply with the more stringent rules and regulations, whereas these newer classes are not prepared to step up to the new level and throw the rattle out of the pram if they get a penalty for blocking the pitlane while they refuel, or for constantly cutting the track.

Just to be clear.... racing takes place in a framework of rules.... anything else is just bashing. Nothing wrong with bashing but don't confuse good bashing with good racing. Its like trying to compare an afternoon gallop on the other half's hunter to the Derby.

I am not a great believer in to many rules, but certain things have to be put in place, where common sense fails to reveal itself by the users....
