Default FAN on Speed Passion Reventon Pro V1

Hi Chaps

Iv just bought the Speed Passion Reventon Pro V1.1 ESC Comp V3.0-7.5R Combo very happy with the product was very tight to fit into my tm2 v1 but got there

Now a quick question when I turn everything on the Fan that sits on top of the esc does not come on Now iv contacted modelsport, they think it will kick in when the esc reaches a certain temperature

just wanted to no is this the case' as I don't want to run / over heat the buggy

Thanks Steve

Just goes to show how little Modelsport know about the products they sell. The Fan 100% definitely should start as soon as the power is turned on. SP fans are a different polarity to most others, so make sure that it's plugged in the correct way.

BTW for shops local to modelsport (that know what they're talking about) I recommend MB Models, or Moss Models "just" don the road in selby

I use a SP pro 1.1 and the fan comes on as soon as switched on !!!!, my mate bought a one from modelsport and the fan was faulty out the box and it took him a month for them to supply a replacement

It's a fairly standard high speed 30x30x7 fan.

I usually buy 2 or 3 at a time from ebay for 10-15 dollars.

You probably won't need it in a 2wd anyway (probably)

Just to be fair here, chances are the fan was sent back to Schumacher and they may have checked it to analyse fault.
My experience of SP stuff is that I have had one faulty motor (sensor board) and a reventon ESC that seemed to work, then suddenly smelt of burnt electrics and stopped. In both cases the items were returned to Schumacher by the shop(s) I purchased from, and a few weeks later they were replaced.
HOWEVER, if the items are new, the "legal contract" is with the shop, not the manufacturer or importer so technically, they should have replaced on the spot and then they take it up with their supplier.

Can't comment on Modelsport expertise, but I'm surprised someone said the fan doesn't run all the time!!

On a 2wd buggy yes you will be fine but switch the overheat protection on to protect the esc just incase, but 2wd won't get that hot

Nice reply of modelsport, as im new to all this is Schumacher the main supplier ?

Hello,

After speaking to Schumacher they should turn straight on as you say later on.

Some ESC's fans do turn on at certain temperatures.

We don't have a issue replacing the fan for you, what's your address so we can get one sent right out for you?
