How are you cutting the shells out Garry?

If you just use scissors they will crack easily, they will be a lot stronger if you sand the edges where cut to be really smooth.

I cut my shells out with scissors to get rid of most of the material, then the sanding drum on the dremel to get down to the cut lines, then wet and dry paper the edges smooth.

Im using lexan scissors to cut the shell out and its done neat and all, just the hole at the front of the car where the its has to let the body clip faster through it cracks...

Ive heard that you can re-drill the actual body mount further back above the steering rack on the Losi 8ight so the body clip is covering a flatter curface area.

But should you have to go to this extent? are people having the same issue with other shells on the 8ight? - or am i just being retarded

I have found if you cut/ream the body hole slightly big and then use a old shell to make a washer or part of the waste you cut off it allow the shell to move when landing seems to help stop it cracking and allows the car to flex better .

Hi Garry,
Are you makin the hole just big enought to fit over the mounting? because of all the chassis flex, especialy if using the new chassis/plastic diff braces,a lot of people elongate the hole, then use another piece of lexan on top of the shell under the body clip.

Garry, re-drill it further back, it does it on all the 8ight shells, not enough meat round it.

Also slot at lease the rear hole.

But 8th's tend to eat shells anyway
