It might be a long drive for some, but geograhpically its definately NW region

Good for the region and I expect its also good for the Barrow club.

I think Damo was referring to the BRC, rather than the F345's.

Yes BRC, F2's, Veterans and Juniors at Broxtowe, the last Barrow Regional would take place after that event?

Sorry guys, the following rule has been taken from the 2011 handbook off the BRCA website:

4.9 Regional Reps. together with the Regions‟ Clubs, will organise a Regional Championship Series for
each Region. The results of these Championships will be used as entry qualification for: The Jnr. & Vet.
Championships, Inter-Regional F2 and F3/F4/F5 Championships.

Therefore the date will have to be before the F2's at Broxtowe.

This must mean the following year though.

As if someone was an F3 and they qualified as an F2 on the last round (before the BRC) it doesnt mean they can then Enter the F2s similiary it won't exclude them for the F3,4,5s.

If you start the season as an F3 for example, you would stay as an F3 till the end of that season. I could be worng, that's how I've always understood it.

You don't qualify by your "next years" license grade. You gain eligibility to race in the event based on the grade you are this year, so if you are an F2 this year, you can't do the F3's this year, even if you are last in the regional championship!

By qualify I think it means if the region get awarded 10 places, then they should be offered to the top 10 in the region (who want to go). If the championship is not over yet then that is obviously difficult to do The F2's/Vets is usually a VERY popular event, so there has to be a means of deciding who goes.

That btw is *my* understanding and not an official response from the BRCA (despite my sig).

Surely by the last round we should have a pretty good idea who might be eligible anyway.
And remember now the classes have been split at least one class will have finished its season.

The problem is Si Coe that some people may be qualifying in one class and if they don't finish the series before the F2 event then how do they qualify?

Northy is correct in that each region has been given ten places for each class for the F2 end of year finals.

This event has been oversubscribed for the last three years and due to the increase in Juniors and Veterans there are only around 80 places available out of 120 which is way less than 10 per region.

This quote from the BRCA Handbook is the salient point:

The results of these Championships will be used as entry qualification for: The Jnr. & Vet.
Championships, Inter-Regional F2 and F3/F4/F5 Championships.

Its pretty clear that you HAVE to qualify in the 2012 Regional Championship to gain a place at the F2 Finals in Broxtowe, therefore you have to have completed the Regional Series by then.

Sorry, not my rules, but surely the date can be changed by Barrow in Furness to accommodate?

Erm Woody, that would be the same weekend as the Oople Invernational 2012.

Not sure you're going to get many drivers up to Barrow as we have invited quite a few to Oople!

Ps. I think you have an invite?

Good plan, as all of the South lakes member will be attending one of our big exhibition shows we attend each year over that weekend.

I'm sure you will be able to find a date to fit
