Default Xray T2 009 Steering issue

Hello all,

I'm setting up an Xray T2 009 but having an issue with the steering while the throttle is engaged.

It looks like when the car's steering reaches a certain point, the belt rubs on something (I suspect the supporting column for the steering) and as such the drive belt has major vibration which would certainly lead to a snap.

I have used my transmitter to restrict the servo to 70% of it's range, as such the steering never goes far enough to cause the major vibration - but I suspect it may still be rubbing as the belt appears to have a little twist in it.

I have also set both of the diffs to a rubber spec to not only tighten the belt, but lower it to move it away from the point I suspect is rubbing.

Has anyone had this issue and can suggest a possible solution? Or is it just normal on a T2 009?

Are you running a front spool? In which case the chatter when steering is normal, it doesn't really effect the car too much on the track.

If not, then there is probably something worn or binding.

Have you read the manual? Is the car built correctly?

I have checked and as far as I can see, it is built correctly

Pics of the area and video of the problem (particularly at the end of the vid)

Front spool

The orange base of the steering column is the suspect

Video of the rattle (particularly at end, watch the belt)
