Default EZRun Brushless ESC v2 problem

Hi all.

I gave my 8.5T brushless combo a run out but kept encountering the same problem - the car would run fine, then see a very noticeable decrease in power before finally losing all throttle (steering was fine).

The ESC blinks red when this has occurred, although neither the ESC or Motor were hot (barely warm).

This was the same on both my saddle packs. My other Hobbywing ESC with the same settings (but a 35A v1 ESC with a 13.5T motor) ran on these batteries with no problems.

The problem is only rectified when you switch the ESC off then on - and even then you only get about a minute's run before it happens again

Any ideas? I suspect possibly a faulty voltage cut off sensor but not sure.

Hobbywing advised me it's definately the LVC. I have it on the highest setting, I'm assuming 3.0v is the lowest suitable setting for Saddle Lipos as an alternative?

i have this too on my 120a v2.1 What ive done now is to remove the LVC altogether. My lipo's are nosram 5000mah 50C and have stacks of carge after a 5 minute race but still it slows the car down on full chat towards the end of the race. I checked the cells and they are on 3.78V (per saddle pack) at the end of the race.

It is the low voltage setting - i had the same issue when i went up one from the 3.0v per cell and the battery was still showing 7.5v remaining. it kept cutting out after about 2-3 mins running so i just went back to the 3.0v setting and it was fine. ran the battery to flat and it cut off at 6.0v and took in 5000mah when i recharged it.

I rund 45c 5200 batteries with the 5.5t motor in 2wd buggy. At the EOS finals on astro it was fine all day with punch setting 2 and std timing

Remember that the LVC will be sensing the voltage UNDER LOAD (i.e. powering your car whilst accelerating at full whack) not just sitting idle on the bench where you are measuring the voltage.

I had a similar thing not long ago, it was a sign that my LiPo's where all but totally shot, new cells and happy days.

I'd definitely not recomend setting the LVC lower than 3V per cell or removing it, almost certainly end up with very dead LiPos!

Interesting thread, I have the 150A v2, could someone please tell me if this will work with the Castle Link cable? It says it has USB support on the ESC.

Many thanks.
