Bantam e-Station BC6 Review

I have done reviews for both magazines and other websites in the past, but due to time constraints never for my own site. I have been working hard redeveloping my website, and it's not all finished yet. However I have managed to make time to do this review on the BC6 charger which has let me test out my new review template. Comments will be greatly appreciated, thanks

I have one, and also seems good.
But you failed to mention that when charging conventional cells (MiMH) at 5amps, putting a second pack on straight after for charging will cause the charger to over heat about half way through. Not good for race days. Also, no balancing leads provided which is a bit of a bummer. I liked the report, good work.

I did actually intend to imply there was a 5 ampere charging limit for both LiPo and NiMH. But when I read it back, you were absolutely right. It reads like I say there is only a limit for LiPo. So I have added a line which hopefully clarifies to the reader. Thanks for that, I really appreciate it and I wouldn't probably have noticed for a while. It's odd you have overheating issues with yours. I run touring car down a very small carpet track with very few people, and for that reason my charger never stops for a couple of hours as there is little time between heats (only 2-4 heats). Last couple of weeks BC6 coped with NiMH at 5A with no heating problems, and I've just got back a few minutes ago using LiPo all night, only 2 heats so again my charger was always charging, and no issue. I wonder what is causing it for you.

Nice report mate, I'm hopefully picking one of these up for this weekend. Another review I've read states that the 12v input is live when using the mains supply allowing for other chargers etc to be connected so a separate power supply isn't required. Have you experimented with this at all?

I used my BC6 to charge ni-cd cells for the first time on the weekend.
talk about hassle free! no false peaking, just adjust the mv drop off value and press enter. brilliant. I also didn't realise it had the ability to cycle packs; what an awesome piece of kit.
