yes its possible,
parts needed of the top of m head
big bore shocks,
new 5mm spur gear
new chassis an top deck (not essential)
new front and rear wishbones (stronger)
new 4mm pivot blocks for front wishbones (really worth it but ether need new lower gearbox halfs at the front or re drilled)
theres some more plastic parts but i believe the original alloy parts are better

don't suppose it's possible to go straight from an sx to an sx3?

It is probably possible but with the amount it would cost you could just buy an SX3

was thinking something like that. well the sx I've got is just to see if I'm any good or get to like, as I'd rather not fork out a small fortune if I then can't stand it.
