Hi Rob,

I think it was us you purchased the set from us this afternoon?

I run a fan in 4wd but i tend to be quite hard on my electrics... In most cases i'd get away without one so it's just incase. I know loads of people that don't need to.

If you have space it might be worth it but its not necessarily essential and depends on a lot of things.

Hope that helps

Regards
Kev

try here http://teamtekin.com/hotwire/ESCsetups/index.html and you need to know which firmware you are running.

Hi Rob, the fans there due to my old brain forgetting to unplug at the end of the day, plus it helps draw air over the motor.

The RS Pro has a handy facility of an onboard realtime temp indicator, and unless your bouncing on the upper end of the indicator, no need for the fan

What settings would people use in a Durango with Speed Passion 6.5 - 7.5 (more like 7.5) motor?

Would you set the timing on the SP motor to zero?

Hi,

On the motor can is the sensor leader socket to the left, in the middle or to the right as that's the timing on the SP motors.

Cheers

Start with zero, if it gives to much kick, increase it.

As for RS Settings, start with

Dual Mode
timing 80
leave the rpm range as standard
limiter 90% and the rest to suit your driving.

you may even get away with running in Sensored mode, and play with timing and boost to!

Hey Steve,

I'll be sorted in the next 2 weeks and ready for your skills

Maybe you could show me around the RS Pro at the same time I call over?

Rob.

Randy; What gearing would you suggest for 1900 4S and 1700 5S respectively.

Thanks

Essentially it's a HB D8, i.e. hpi vorza, internal ratio is 4.3, I race on large tracks.

Thanks

1900 on 4s would be geared 20-21/48 or so

1700 on 5s woudl be geared 19-21/ 48

These are aproximate.

If someone really smart managed to wire up the sensor cable incorrectly, say with red wire in the correct place then black yellow white green blue going across the plug, then ran the car for a whole meeting, would any permanent damage be done?

Im suprised you managed to run it without cogging ?? But if you put a normal sensor lead in now and it works fine the you should have no problems.

it didn't really cog, it just hesitated for maybe half a second when i tried to set off! only figured it out after the last race of the day so i've not swapped the wires back yet to find out, but it was still running at the end

Default help needed

So I love the equipment and how everything works but am having serious trouble cooling this thing down in my durango. In my 2wd heat is never an issue, but the 4wd is always too hot when I pull it off. Ive tried it all, I cut a lot out of my shell to open up for cooling, Ive lowered the limiter to 60%, I tried gearing up and down and all the throttle profiles as well as switched between dual mode and sensored mode. All these things made no difference. Running a 6,5 with the rs pro. esc temps are like 190+F with all the leds flashing and it has shut off on me recently twice last practice. Motor is relatively cool. No heatshrink on the esc wires or the motor wires. Everything is pretty straight forward but if I cant get it all resolved I will have to sell it. Cant risk a DNF cuz it cant cool properly.
Any ideas?...I really need some help here.
