Default Vintage R/C10 Team Associated Question

I recently came across a Vintage R/C10 Team Associated Buggy. I believe it is from 1984. I am seeing a lot of information on Championship 1/10 off-road race cars, however the decals on the side of the buggy says "Team Associated 10". Mine says "Team Associated 7". Can someone explain what the difference is?
Thanks!

A lot of kits didnt even come with proper decals so dont let the decals worry you..
original cars had short front arms and gold shock caps, the championship edition cars had longer front arms and i think they all had black plastic top caps on the shocks.

Jimmy, you sure the champ ed had the longer wishbones, i thought the Team was the first with them?? I still have an origional one in my loft, needs a bit of TLC, must get round to that one day.

aye the first champ edition was the old style tranny but had long arms...
the 2nd edition champ car had the stealth tranny and the same arms.. which is what i have..

The first champ car was my first rc10 so i remember it well! I also remember my disapointment in not having those old short arms on it when i got it.. they looked cooler! and the old style shell was replaced by that more angular one..

My car is "Old School", gold shocks, old trany and short arms.

Did the origional car ever have the Silver shocks on it that are on the box?? I never saw any, but that doesn't really prove much!!

nah that was a prototype, they never did a car like that afaik, you could buy some similar adjusters from MIP or CRP i think.
I tried to make my blue rc10 a bit similar to the advert... the champ one i wanted to make similar which is why it now wears short arms and old school wheels / tyres.. just need to find the time to make a shell

lovely cars!

Make a shell, bloody hell, that's a project!!

I didn't think the shocks ever came out like that.

Must dig mine out and get it back to origional spec. It's has the cells moved to down the centre i think, and have a feeling that the ball joints have been changed for something else. Still got a few sets of the 3pc wheels i think
