Yokomo are due to release a "heavyweight" shell soon i believe. i think it will just be a thicker version of the kit shell.

Body shells are always a matter of preference

I like the stock shell over the after market ones but it's very thin and flimsy. Mine had a puncture through the roof. Must've landed awkwardly on something solid on the track

Got a spare penguin shell to be painted but I still prefer the stock body ... Any part number available for the heavier shell? I believe that's what Lee Martin used at the Euros

I agree. While performance has undoubtedly improved since I used to do rc back in mid 80s, the visual appeal has not. I recently bought a bmax4-III to accompany my bmax2 but I have also had to find an old optima original to remind me of what a proper 4wd rc car could look like if style were key.
Now let me go and find a rectangular box so I can design a paint job...

Maybe the designers of 1980s Volvos have moved to rc!!!

Yokomo YZ-2

No 4WD because nothing lives up to my original Optima. Until now maybe?...

Just found this in the cupboard and chucked some paint on it to see what it looks like, I think I prefer it to the standard shell, what do you think?

Been thinking and I believe it is a penguin ansmann x4te shell, you need to trim it to fit but it fits really well around the sides

Default My shell

Heres what Ive done to fit a Proline phantom. How does it look?

I trimmed the front side pods and made a new bit from wings for the velcro at the front.

It came straight off my b44.2. little trimming needed, its not as tall now and nose needed trimming back, but it fits really well now.
