You can never have too many USB sockets
Have been using a multi gang socket for the last few months. Plugs into the wall and gives you 4 mains sockets and 2 USB sockets. These are limited to 1A total, so once you've got a smart phone charging, that's your 1 amp pretty much gone!
Thought I could do better. Bought a 12v to 5v/3A dual USB dongle from some nice chap in China. Bit of judicious dremelling and some soldering work and I now have a power strip with added USB power. Saves me sticking a multi gang in my kit bag, as I've always got the power strip with me anyway. Also gives me 2x1.5A. Which will handily charge two tablets. Most of the built in USB sockets I see are 1A or less, and singles. |

Cool, I also added a 1A USB to my power strip a couple of years ago, so usefull.
Going to upgrade to a higher capacity soon. |
