I don't want a rocket on the straight or a sudden gain in speed.
Just a normal, smooth linear ESC, with good brakes.
I have tried multiple settings and I don't like any of them.

I have to put my ESC in blinky mode ? 'tp1' ?

+ dual mode

please confirm or give additional 'how to'

We need a lot more info than just a 4.5T motor in a TC to offer esc suggestions.

Hi, What's your reason for wanting to change from the standard cap?

We have the Tekin replacement in stock if that's any use.

Kev

I had my RS pro updated and setup at Stotfold national and the car performed really well.

I finally bought myself a hot-wire and updated the speedo to the latest firmware, but I've been told my car doesn't look like it's got the get up and go that it use to have. Did I loose my setup when it updated?

Any suggestions to get more get up and go from it?

When you update the firmware it resets all the values to default so you will need to change them again and reconfigure the transmitter.

These are my settings for 2wd and 4wd offroad with 6.5's.

Dual mode
Timing - 80%
LM - 90%
TP - 4
BS - 100% (then limit on transmitter epa to suit)
DB - 10%

Default timing ramp - (5k to 20k ish)

Hope that helps
Kev

I heard that having a different cap can bring down the temps and I was just wondering what cap I could get the quickest, as Im in sweden and didn't want to wait too long for a replacement

I ended up getting a
sanyo 680 µF 16 VDC only as it was quickest. I have ordered the original cap as well and WHEN it gets here Ill swap it over.

Whats up with people using 2 caps?.

Big G: I think it returns the setup to standard when the esc gets updated, so you may have to re do your setup.

What did you have?

no idea what my settings were before. HarlowS updated it for me which was done in a bit of a rush since I had to hand my tranny in.

I'll set it up to Kev's settings and try it again.

Ty both

Would you change much between astro high grip and wood low grip? I run a 7.5 most places

Was that us you order the cap off? We sent a pack to sweden on Friday so you should hopefully get it soon if it was.

I used to use 2 caps in the early days (2 or 3 years ago) to help keep temps down but i don't find i need to now with the later firmware. I usually come off with 4 lights at most in 4wd.

I very rarely change anything on the speedo these days no matter where i am. I do have my car fairy high geared at 26/78 on an rb5, so if I were to go to a small indoor track I would probably drop to a 7.5 and leave the gearing (and speedo settings) the same.

If you need more revs turn up the timing to 100%. I know Paul Timberlake runs a 7.5 on 100% timing to get more revs.

yep that was me that ordered.
I haven't actually used mine atm cos I only got it recently and its in a track 1/10 and I blew the cap when I tested it on the street so its just been sitting here the last 2 weeks.

Hopefully I get to test it tonight after the club meeting

BTW do you have a hotwire available?

Hi Randy.

I drive the RS Pro (uncensored) with Nosram pure evolution 9.5BL on LiPo's
My RS Pro is brand new, and I just updated it via the HotWire yesterday.
My problem is from standing start the motor won't spin up unless I'm real easy on the throttle.
- When the motor is up and running all is OK.

Motor has standard timing and is geared 24/76.

Any suggestions?

Thanks :-)

Why are you running it sensorless and not with a sensor cable?

I'm completely new in 1/10 2WD electric offroad - I have run 1/8 nitro offroad
for many years... and now I wanna try something new :-)
- so I will be VERY glad for all the help you can give me.

Will the motor run better (take throttle quicker) with a sensorcable
between ESC and the motor??

And when do you run the motor with sensorcable, and when do you run it without??

Thanks :-)

Always Run the sensor cable on the rs. It'll ensure you get fast crisps starts. The fact that the rs is able to run without a cable, or sensors, is just a bonus if the lead were to become unplugged or damaged during a run.
