be very careful buying cheap 2 stroke generators i bought one last year and it blew my power supply to bits. Something to do with irregular power output i heard this has happened to others as well, i have gone back to using 12 volt batteries to be on the safe side.

shouldnt be a problem if you use a serge protecting extention, the 2 stroke one's are more likely than 4 stroke as they hunt for power more

Yes it is a good idea to use a surge protector with a 2 stroke. I blew 2 power supplies and know of 2 others that went up.

I got a cheapo 2 stroke job from Screwfix. It's based on the Wolf design ones that are pretty common. It's only 50 quid but its bloody noisy and smokey.

Things I've worked out, it's ace if you load it right up, seems to run way smoother like that. To be honest I'm always a bit surprised when it actually fires up but so far it's been faultlessly reliable.
