I think that's a valiant first attempt ! You've got a lot going on there for your first go.

The liquid mask might not have come off well if it was too thin, I've had stuff masked up for literally years and it's come off fine with that so I don't think that's the cause. It also doesn't seem to respond so well if you heat dry it when you put it on, better if you just let it dry out naturally.

That's some complicated design shenanigans going on there fella - if you can manage that on attempt one - you'll be fine

Liquid mask - min 4 coats - go for 5 to be safe, comes off easier when it's thicker.

I put six coats of LM on but they are thin coats...

Anyway, not wanting to derail the thread, onto the next one fella, this has been good so we're all expecting to see great things from now on... No pressure

As previously said good going for your first attempt, plenty going on and you will improve everytime you do one. It does sound like youve put it on a little too thin, though I only use 3 medium coats of mask when do bodies so just depends how thick your putting it on. I also speed up between coats with blow dryer and then leave the 3rd coat overnight to dry out properly.

I like the fact youve gone for it with this shell so as Ian says great things will be expected on your next lol
