3A pistons are 3 x 1.2mm , 3B are 3 x 1.1 for info.

I run 3 x 1.3 on the rear of the FS when the track has lots of small sharp bumps but no big jumps .... I think you need to go all 3 types but if just buying 2 types then go 3 x 1.1 and 3 x 1.2

The pistons for the Tamiya work just fine in the Kyosho shocks.

Hi wraggy, im lookin at getting some pistons for some 3 racing shocks,10mm is ideal for the diamater, but they need to be 2mm thick where the clip sits, will the koyosho ones fit, or would i need another type??

if the piston is to thick grind some off, if they are to thin use a shim,

Dude if you dont get answer from Wraggy, my pistons should be here tomorrow i will let you know the thickness & Dia too

If they are slightly thicker than 2mm you can always wet/dry them down little or shim them up as we used the Tamiya ones on the Kyosho's but had to shim them slightly to fit

That surprises me, as the tamiya pistons have a smaller outer diameter, which give them A LOT softer feel in the shock. Remember that even a small difference in outer diameter has a massive effect as a lot more oil will pass around the piston.

Well in fact I tried tamiya pistons in yokomo shocks, and I measured diameter for losi, yokomo and tamiya pistons, and got dimension from elvo on the Kyosho shocks. The tamiya pistons in yokomo shocks didn't work as they felt way too smooth, even with the smallest hole diameters.

Wraggy, do you have anything to put in yokomo shocks (no big bore)? As no one seems to know what the different types of yokomo pistons really are, it would be nice to have a decent set for them. But maybe the kyosho ones fit allright, if these shocks have the same shaft diameter (metric).

First from what I remember there wasn't such a big difference in diameter.

Second how is that a bad thing ? The pistons are supposed to give less pack so that's even better IMHO.

For example I would use losi red piston with oil30. Even with the 1.1mm holes pistons from tamiya, with oil 30, it still feels softer. So if I want the feel and pack as losi red pistons, there is no way to do that with tamiya pistons. (in yokomo shocks!!)

Less pack is good, if you want less pack of course But that's not my point. I just want a decent set of pistons for yokomo shocks (cause it doesn't exist), and tamiya pistons are not usable for that. Maybe kyosho pistons are, because they seem to have the same outer diameter.

(losi pistons don't work as their shaft diameter are bigger, so they sit loose on the yokomo shaft)

if its the standard shocks with the anodised blue cartridge bottom the the AE pistons fit perfect as that was what Neil, Bradders & Lee were all using last and this season except Lee for this season as he went Tamiya .
