Reedy Lipo Low Voltage
Hi Guys Its been a while hope your all keeping well,
Quick question I Have 2x reedy lipo 5000mah cells and was trying to charge them the other day but when i try to charge them it says low voltage i was using one of them every few months but the other was in storage i'm thinking these lipos are knackered but on the off chance is there a way to revive them? Regards Eoin I,m planning to drop out for winter gp

That message usually appears if the balance charge lead isn't connected correctly... Try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting again... That works for me..

Eoin,
Good to hear from you again. It could be a number of issues. But try first a normal charge, no balance leads. Could just be a loose connection. Next to check would be the voltage of the cells, if the pack as a whole reads over 6v then all it needs is a normal charge. MiCk B. :-)

Thanks for the reply Ok i've tested my saddle pack on the charger and power analizer and there ok, There is no reading on the volt meter from both packs i checked it with charger with and without the balance cables on all charge options it keeps saying low voltage ,I'll try another meter on them but looks like there doomed Regards Eoin

If you test with another multimeter and they say no voltage, then the're dead. If however they read say 5v or higher, you may be able to revive them.
I had a pack which dipped too low for a normal lipo charge, but I read that a couple of minutes on a NIMH charge could get their voltage back enough for a regular charge. I did that, and after their voltage had picked up a bit, I then did a normal LIPO balance charge. That pack worked fine afterwards. Care must be taken with this process, as if they get left on NIMH charge for a full charge, it would likely not go well. So if they are only a bit low, feel free to try this advice. You can probably find a more detailed guide somewhere on the web. EDIT: I think I followed the MaxAmps guys advice on this thread. http://www.rctech.net/forum/maxamps-...w-voltage.html
