So I am new to all this 4wd malarky and just got a cat 2nd hand. It has the shocks behind the rear wishbones, and I noticed most of them have it infront. Can anyone suggest what differences this makes please?

apparently it gives more flex in the setup which shows an improvement on bumpy tracks.

I think it makes the car far safer to drive when the shocks are on the back!

If the arms are drilled and only the shocks are transferred to the rear, it doesn't make a lot of difference. I usually run the shocks at the rear to change the front-to-rear weight ratio at little bit.
When you also reverse the rear arms, the difference becomes more noticable. You get more rear grip on slippery tracks, but the car can become unstable on bumps when on power.

why would moving the shock tower from one side of the bulk head to the other give the car more flex and as for the lower arms yeah you maybe correct in saying it will give a little more flex as it hits a bump but it highly unlikly you would feel any effect of this.

With the new alloy mounts I've fitted the shocks to the rear, but leaving the wishbones as they were. Drilling holes to fit the shocks etc.
Wonder if schumacher will release an alternative wishbone? Will post a pic tomorrow night / Saturday
