SMALL CIRCUIT DIMENSIONS
Hy everyone,
I picked a small piece of land for building a house...and obviously want to put an small circuit on it (as far from my wife as I can, of course). I've looking for indoor circuits images, as they're smaller usually. But the smaller I see is about 30x100 feet. And that is too much for me. Anyone knows the minimal dimensions to build a good circuit or could give me any idea about? Photographs would be apreciated. |

For 10th scale (on or off road) all your lanes will need to be at least 2m wide otherwise the cars struggle to turn full circle in them.
Straights less than about 20m end up feeling pretty short. To get a nice variety of corners you need to have 4 lanes depth to the track. I would say any track much smaller than 10m x 20m starts to feel small. You might just about get away with 8m x 16m, if you want a realistic "practice" track. |

My firsts designs are about 15-16m long and 6-7 wide, so lots of "diagonal" must be done...and a short straight of course.
I'll try to play Tetris a bit more to reorder the project. What about the floor? I think in astroturf or similar to reduce erosion and maintenance. But it's expensive, any option? Thanks |

If you have a cross over in it that should add some track length.

Astroturf is expensive to buy - but most tracks in the UK get it for free when artificial sports pitches get replaced. If you can find a contact at a company locally that renovates artificial pitches, you might be able to get the Astro for nothing! |

After house building surface will look as moon land. No grass, no nothing...so I'll call astroturf sellers to ask for the replaced material. Nice idea, thanks a lot.
The crossover was a good one too. I only have 400 square meters or 3700 sf to put house, garaje, circuit...and garden. This is like brain training game |

Try running the straight diagonally and have a couple of jumps that cross over the straight for maximum effect
Nylon carpet works pretty well outdoors too and comes in lots of nice colours too |
