I'm going to run my current X6 chassis till it's death then get this polished up refinement when the time comes
Will the current X6 users get a choice of an X6squard upgrade kit instead getting a full conversion again as I see a couple of the parts are still the same???

No Mike, there will not be any coversion kit from X6 to Squared spec, too much would need changing and a conversion kit would be an almost new car

Of course!!! the new conversion looks to be a much neater better moulded refined X6 with some new nice features that we've had to do ourselves on the current x6

X – 6 SQUARED DEBUTS IN U.S. AND U.K.

The new X – 6 Squared makes its debut this weekend in major races on both sides of the Atlantic. X Factory Team drivers have the updated version of The New Math at the Petit Race in U.K. and the CRCRC MidWinter in Columbus, Ohio.

U.K. drivers Ellis Stafford, Dan Greenwood, and Tom Cockerill will be joined at the Petit Race by new X-Team drivers Cyril Baldini (France), Bruno "Elvo" Heremans (Belgium), and Stefan Mesker (Netherlands). They will be driving the X – 6 Squared as well as the new X – 60 truck Conversion and the 4WD X – 5 Squared.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Brian Kinwald and Paul Sinclair will intro the X – 6 Squared at the 22nd Annual C.R.C.R.C. MidWinter Championships. From the pits in Columbus, Brian said, "I got my car three weeks ago and absolutely love it. The quality of all the parts is by far better than anything we had before."

Chief Engineer Paul Sinclair added, "Just like the truck, the X – 6 Squared represents a huge step forward for X Factory. The new car is simpler, higher quality, and retains all the on-track characteristics of the great original X – 6. The Squared is so much quicker and easier to build and work on."

"Our schedule right now is to ship the X – 6 Squared to distributors and dealers the last week of January, and release it to the public on our web site in early February, said Chazz. Customers will be able to get the Squared most quickly through their local hobby shop."

#5284 is Brian Kinwald's X – 6 Squared. A blue glow antenna is in the second antenna mount position.

#5297 is Paul Sinclair's X – 6 Squared.

The conversion looks good!!

There doesn't look too many changes so hopefully not too expensive

I may just get the chassis, I take it a 4 gear car can be put into new chassis??

Yes it does "look" identical. But since the new rear arms are straight instead of having that small "bend" at the end. The tower needed to be a bit higher to have enough uptravel.

Why no upgrade kit? There are sooo many new parts that an upgrade kit would have to be priced very close to the whole Conversion Kit -- not worth it. Most of the new parts are the expensive ones -- graphite chassis, battery hold-downs, shock tower, etc.

The 6 Squared will be very much like the X - 6, just as the 5 Squared is much like the original X - 5. And just like the 5 Squared, the 6 Squared has many, many refinements. We are doing very heavy math here.

So those who currently own an X - 6 will not find their cars suddenly obsolete. While we think many will want the new X - 6 Squared, we think a number of others, impressed by their results with the X - 6, will simply keep those cars and be quite competitive.

Most parts from the X - 6 will fit on the X - 6 Squared. And, of course, an X - 6 will make a great "donor car" for an X - 6 Squared.

As Darren has said, the existing stocks of K011 X - 6s will be excellent values, and will provide years of great race results for anyone. If this were a revolutionary car, we would have called it something like the X - 7.. But it's not revolutionary, just an evolution. Therefore, 6 Squared.
