Default Advice please from xx4 drivers.

Hereīs where Iīm at. top 8 or so at my track and I really love the xx4. I recently drove my friendīs lazer and it was really awesome.

I still have a strong affair with the xx-4 however itīs missing a few things that Iīd love to have it do.
Iīm running the mamba 7700 in it.
Iīve got a bunch of bodies that are really nice. (one original Brian Kinwald that he ran in an international race!!!)

I would like it to have a bit more punch however I donīt want to risk breaking belts too often.

I was thinking of getting onto the lazer boat and driving kyosho for a while.

the other option is converting to an x5.

too many choices.

In England you all drive more xx4s than anywhere else in the world. whatīs the love affair about?=?=?=?=ŋ?ŋ?ŋ? I really love it too however I donīt know if itīs really better suited for your grass/anything goes type tracks.

I respect your comments and have seen videos of many of you racing, pretty nice.

well that's my rant, I'd love to hear your opinions.

ciao
Sean

Its just a really good grass and astro car so as 90% of our tracks are grass and astro alot of people run them. When you had a go with your friends lazer did you time it?? Because i have had loads of people say to me that the xx4 doesnt look that fast but when you look at the times it is fast.

My two pennies.

Default really good point.

I'm going to do a time trial very soon. I also think that I should really copy a top driver's full setup and start from there. it's about time. I guess then I'll be able to really gage if it's what I want or not.

If drivetrain reliability is your concern, The Lazer ZX5 definately isn't any better compared to the XX4. And that is IMO a very cautious statement.

If your options are to stay with the XX4 or go to a ZX5, I'd say stay with your XX4.

However there are a few other option out there.

The XX4 is possibly the best 'all round' car over here for speed, jumping, reliability and overall performance.....The Losi Team drivers developed a set up quite a few years ago that gets tweeks now and then that works on any surface.

I drove the car for 3 years straight and it really was able to make me a much faster driver as being so simple to drive i was able to concentrate on improving my driving skills i.e cornering speed, racing lines etc.

I've now got another XX4 that im in the process of rebuilding ready for next year.

It is a great car and it takes the bumps well. Say no more.

I got a lazer back in March 2006 and have run it indoors since. I've spent a long time on the setup and I'm very happy with it. It just needs a little more steering.

My lazer got me 'back in' to car racing as I was losing intrest. However, I've never run it outdoors as I ran my 2wd outdoors this season.

So...you say. Well I've now got a XX4. I'm keeping my Lazer but I've got the choice now. Next year I'll be running my XX4 outdoors.

Each to their own, i say.

Brett
