testing ESC?
Hi. Apart from plugging it all together, is there a way of testing an ESC to check it's integrity, and that it's electrically sound?
Thank you Tim |

Brushless? Yes, if you have a DVM you can check to see if the phases are shorted out.
Make sure you've not got a motor or battery attached to the ESC and that it's not plugged into the RX. Set the DVM to resistance and put the +ve DVM lead on the +ve battery terminal on the ESC and the -ve DVM lead to each of the motor phases in turn and look at the resistance each time. Now put the -ve DVM lead to the -ve battery terminal and using the +ve DVM lead measure the resistance to each phase. If any are under about 200ohms then you have a problem. That's a good way to check for shorted FETs |
